Pune: Judge Arrested In Corruption Case, Rs 50000 Bribe Taken For Managing Case

Pune, 1 April 2021: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a judge for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 through a private person to manage and dismiss a criminal case. The arrest of the judge has created a stir in the district.
The arrested woman judge has been identified as Archana Deepak Jatkar. The District and Sessions Court, Pune, had earlier rejected her anticipatory bail. She worked as a joint civil judge junior division/judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) at the Vadgaon Maval court.
Earlier, suspended police inspector Anil alias Bhanudas Jadhav was arrested in the case. The first private woman, Shubhavari Bhalchandra Gaikwad (29), a resident of Talegaon was arrested by the ACB in January for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. It was later concluded that a woman judge was also involved in the case.
Accordingly, the ACB arrested Judge Archana Jatkar. She will be produced in court today.
