Pune: Kamla Nehru Hospital’s Diagnostic Partner Faces PMC Action Over Pricing Issues

Pune, 11th February 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a notice to Krishna Diagnostics Centre at Kamla Nehru Hospital following complaints of overcharging and service irregularities. The centre, which operates under a partnership aimed at providing affordable healthcare services to economically weaker citizens, has come under scrutiny for allegedly violating agreed-upon rates and service standards.
Medical Officer Sanjeev Wavare confirmed that the PMC’s Health Department took action after receiving multiple complaints from patients. The notice demands an explanation from Krishna Diagnostics regarding the alleged discrepancies.
Over the years, PMC has outsourced several healthcare services, including dialysis and diagnostic tests at major hospitals, to private organisations like Krishna Diagnostics. However, these services remain under the supervision of the municipal health department to ensure compliance with regulations.
