Pune Ketan Agrawal Murder Case: Family Alleges VIP Treatment for Accused Siya Goyal in Yerawada Jail
Pune, 27th August 2026: A shocking allegation has emerged in the Ketan Agrawal murder case, with his family claiming that accused Siya Goyal, who allegedly pushed Ketan off a cliff resulting in his death, is being given VIP treatment in Yerawada jail. The allegation has angered Ketan’s family, who have demanded action against the jail authorities.
Ketan’s family members and friends have made serious allegations against the Yerawada jail administration, claiming that Goyal has been provided several special facilities at the Yerawada women’s prison and is being treated like a VIP.
According to reports, Ketan’s family has sought action against the jail officials. In a statement, the family reportedly said, “This fight is not just for our Ketan, but we are fighting this battle so that the fear of the law continues to remain in the minds of criminals.” The family has demanded an immediate inquiry into the facilities allegedly being provided to Goyal and the suspension of jail officials found to have violated the rules.
The allegations of VIP treatment were first raised by the ‘Gulabo Gang’, led by Sangeeta Tiwari, and the ‘Payal Tiwari Bitiya Foundation’. The organisations also staged a two-day protest at Pune’s Market Yard and outside the residence of accused Siya Goyal. The protesters demanded that any special concessions allegedly being provided to her in jail be stopped immediately. Several local political groups, including the Republican Socialist Party, have also supported the family’s demand and called for a high-level inquiry.
Both accused in the Ketan Agrawal murder case, Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, are currently lodged in Yerawada jail. The case relates to Ketan’s alleged murder at Lohagad Fort. The court had rejected the police’s plea seeking an extension of their remand. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Maharashtra government had earlier granted official approval for the trial to be conducted in a fast-track court to ensure that Ketan’s family gets justice at the earliest.
