Pune: Khadki Station Handles 4,500 Daily Passengers; 50 Trains Halt

Khadki, 22nd April 2026: Khadki railway station recorded a total footfall of 90,687 passengers between April 1 and April 20, 2026, with total earnings of ₹61,55,156, as per official railway data.

The total passenger count includes 79,409 UTS passengers, 10,707 PRS passengers, and 571 platform ticket holders, aligning with the overall footfall figure.

Revenue figures show that the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) contributed ₹6,87,725, while the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) generated ₹54,67,431, accounting for the total earnings.

Passenger movement during the period indicates 62,970 inward passengers (57,613 UTS + 5,357 PRS) and 27,146 outward passengers (21,796 UTS + 5,350 PRS).

On a daily average, the station handled 4,534 passengers, with average daily earnings of ₹3,07,758.

The highest single-day performance was recorded on April 6, when the station handled 7,714 passengers and generated ₹10,92,598 in revenue. Another peak was observed on April 13, with 6,680 passengers and earnings of ₹13,01,233.

Khadki station currently has 50 trains halting daily, evenly split between 25 up and 25 down services. These include Mail/Express and EMU (suburban) trains connecting key routes such as CSMT–Pune, Pune–Lonavala, Pune–Talegaon, and long-distance corridors including Chennai and Kolhapur routes. The station handles 5 Mail/Express and 21 EMU trains in the down direction, and 4 Mail/Express along with 21 EMU trains in the up direction.

Speaking on the performance, Divisional Commercial Manager Hemant Kumar Behera said, “Khadki station has shown consistent passenger movement and stable revenue generation during the first 20 days of April. The balance between suburban EMU services and long-distance trains is contributing to steady footfall. The data also reflects strong reliance on unreserved travel, while reserved ticketing continues to contribute significantly to overall earnings. Operationally, the station is efficiently handling train halts and passenger flow across both segments.”
