Pune: Kirloskar Brothers Company Network Hacked, FIR Registered Against Unidentified Person

Pune, 7th May 2021: An FIR has been registered against an unidentified person for allegedly hacking into the network of Kirloskar Brothers Limited and changing the password, resulting in disruption of the ongoing work at the firm.

 

Based on a complaint from the company’s IT manager, an FIR has been registered at Hinjawadi police station falling under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.
According to the police, the incident took place between 9.03 am to 9.21 am on April 18 at the company’s office located in Baner.
“The accused used a public IP address to enter the network using the company’s VPN and switched off the network switch on the third floor of Yamuna Building office in Baner. The accused had gained access to the super admin account and also changed the password, thus disrupting the ongoing work”, states the complaint.

 

Police have registered the case for offences under Sections 43A (penalty and compensation for accessing network), 43F (denial of access to authorised person), and 66 (computer-related offences) of the Information Technology (amendment 2008) Act. Police Inspector Jogdand is investigating the case further.
