Pune: Legal Advisors Of MSEDCL Caught Taking Bribe

Pune, 15th February 2023: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught legal advisers of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 to give a favourable report on the objection in the application filed for taking an electricity meter. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took action at the office of MSEDCL in Rasta Peth.

A case was registered at Samarth police station against Satyajit Vikram Pawar, Legal Adviser, and Sameer Ramnath Chavan, Assistant Legal Officer of Rasta Peth Office of MSEDCL.

The complainant’s application for taking 11 meters in his new building was objected to by the accused. They demanded a bribe of Rs 40 thousand from the complainant to give a favourable report on the objection.

The trap was laid on Tuesday night after the complainant lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Both were caught taking bribes in the Rasta Peth office of MSEDCL.

The action was taken under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, Additional Superintendent Suraj Gurav, Assistant Commissioner Srihari Patil. Police Inspector Sriram Shinde is investigating.
