Pune: Lohgaon Gets New PMPML Bus Stop Near Sub-District Hospital; Traffic Congestion Expected to Ease
Reported by Mubarak Ansari
Lohgaon, 7th September 2026: The final stop for Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses operating from the Lohgaon main bus stop and Bhakti Shakti Chowk has been shifted to the Sub-District Hospital at Harantale following efforts by Vadgaon Sheri MLA Bapusaheb Pathare.
The decision is expected to ease traffic congestion around Lohgaon and Bhakti Shakti Chowk while improving public transport access for patients and visitors to the Sub-District Hospital located near Harantale in Lohgaon, Pune.
Earlier, PMPML buses would remain stationed for extended periods near the Lohgaon main bus stop area. The prolonged parking of buses contributed to congestion at the busy junction, causing inconvenience to motorists, school students and office-goers.
With the final bus stop now shifted to Harantale, traffic movement in the area is expected to become smoother.
The move is also expected to benefit patients, senior citizens, pregnant women and students travelling to the Sub-District Hospital. Previously, passengers alighting at the earlier stop had to travel nearly two kilometres to reach the hospital, either on foot or by private transport.

With PMPML buses now reaching the hospital premises, patients and other commuters will have more convenient access to public transport. The shift is also expected to reduce the time, physical effort and additional expense involved in using private vehicles.
Speaking about the decision, MLA Pathare said that the traffic congestion in Lohgaon and Bhakti Shakti Chowk and the difficulties faced by people travelling to the Harantale hospital had repeatedly come to his attention.
“The increasing traffic congestion in the Lohgaon and Bhakti Shakti Chowk areas and the difficulties faced by ordinary citizens and patients travelling to the Sub-District Hospital had repeatedly come to my notice. People had to walk nearly two kilometres to reach the hospital or spend money on private transport. Following up with the concerned administration, the PMPML last bus stop has now been shifted directly to the Sub-District Hospital. The decision will help ease traffic congestion while saving time and money for economically weaker patients, senior citizens and students”, MLA Pathare told Punekar News.
