Pune Lok Sabha 2024: Results Tomorrow to Decide Between BJP’s Murlidhar Mohol and Congress’s Ravindra Dhangekar
Pune, 3rd June 2024: After voting took place on 13th May in Pune for Lok Sabha 2024, the fate of the candidates has been sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Punekars have been debating for many days whether Mahayuti candidate and former Mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Murlidhar Mohol from the Bharatiya Janata Party or Mahavikas Aghadi candidate and Kasba Peth MLA Ravindra Dhangekar from the Indian National Congress will be the next MP for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency. This question will be answered tomorrow, 4th June, when the results for the Lok Sabha constituency are announced nationwide. Along with Mohol and Dhangekar, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi candidate and former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena corporator, Vasant More is also in the fray.
During the campaign for Pune Lok Sabha, various issues such as traffic congestion, environmental conservation, airport and metro development, and water supply were addressed by all 39 candidates, including Mohol, Dhangekar, and More. The political atmosphere in Pune reached its peak as Prime Minister Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, veteran leader Sharad Pawar, former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and others held rallies, meetings, and events to campaign for their respective candidates in the Pune Lok Sabha constituency.
Both national and local issues were highlighted, with each candidate emphasizing their connection to the people. Pune’s voters come from diverse backgrounds, including both high-end areas and slums. Many predict that the election result will be close rather than one-sided, leading to heightened anxiety among candidates, activists, and voters. Tomorrow, around 8 AM, the counting process will begin, and by 3 PM, Punekars will know their new MP.
