Pune-Lonavala Rail Route Completes 45 Years Of Local Train Services

Pune, 11th March 2023: Today, Pune Railway Division celebrated the completion of 45 years of local train services on the Pune-Lonavala rail route with a grand program at the EMU Depot in Pune. The event was graced by the presence of Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijeshkumar Singh and other senior officials.
During the event, EMU services were inaugurated and Brijesh Kumar Singh worshiped the beautifully decorated local train rack with flowers and other decorations on the depot premises. Singh stated that Pune Railway Division is committed to providing excellent services to passengers.
The local train services on the Pune-Lonavala section began on March 11, 1978. The current travel time of 63 km from Pune to Lonavla is one hour and twenty minutes, a significant reduction from the two and a half hours it took earlier.
The program was attended by a large number of officers and employees, including Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer Tarun Suyal, who celebrated the occasion with joy and gaiety.
