Pune: Loyola, Vidya Valley, Hill Green win two on opening day of St. Vincent’s Junior League
Pune, 15th January 2025: Hosts St. Vincent’s H.S, arch rivals Loyola School along with Hill Green, Vidya Valley and Hutchings were off to flyers logging two wins each on the opening day of the football event in the St. Vincent’s Junior League 2024-25, at the St. Vincent’s ground.
Loyola School notched a 4-0 win over Sri Sri Ravishankar. Nived Nair (3 goals) and Shaun Angore scored. Later Loyola downed Erin Nosh Nagarwala School 2-0 after Shaun Angore and Nathanial David net a goal each.
Meanwhile, St Vincent’s logged identical 2-0 wins over HDFC School and Dastur Boys respectively. Ayan Raut and Reyyan Panjabi scored against HDFC School, while Ayan Raut and Reyyan Panjabi netted a goal each against Dastur Boys.
Vidya Valley put down Dastur Eo-Ed 3-0 after Arhan Khan Pathan (2) and Malhar Deshmukh found the net. Similarly, Vidya Valley downed Fr. Agnel 2-0, with Malhar Deshmukh and Rihansh Praser scoring a brace each.
Hutchings pipped Klien Memorial 1-0 by riding on a strike by Vivaan P. Hutchings, later, hammered Dastur Co-Ed 6-0, the day’s highest score. A brace each by Vivaan P, Samarth J and Pranath J was the highlight of the scoreline.
Hillgreen School scored two wins by edging Klien Memorial School and Nagarwala School 1-0 respectively. Krish Samual and Anas Jamadar struck for the winners in the two wins.
