Pune: Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti Urges Action Against Bageshwar Baba For Alleged Unscientific Practices
Pune, 24th November 2023: Dhirendra Shastri alias Bageshwar Baba, the speaker at a recent three-day satsang and darbar in Pune’s Sangamwadi area, is facing scrutiny following allegations by the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS).
The Samiti claims that Shastri made statements during the event that are considered unscientific and misleading.. The program was organized by the former BJP MLA Jagdish Mulik.
In an official statement, the MANS accuses Dhirendra Shastri, the Peethadhish of the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar in Madhya Pradesh taking advantage of people’s beliefs and emotions, exploiting their vulnerability and ignorance by disseminating inconsistent and unscientific information related to God, religion, and worship.
The Samiti has submitted a list of demands to the Pune Police, urging them to file a case against Dhirendra Shastri and take appropriate action. The statement emphasizes that Shastri’s practices are in violation of scientific principles and are deemed unconstitutional by the Samiti.
Furthermore, the Samiti raises concerns about police officers in uniform attending Dhirendra Shastri’s court, bowing before him, and seeking solutions to problems in an unscientific manner. Such actions are viewed as a violation of the Maharashtra Services Act and similar laws, and the Samiti calls for a case to be filed against the officers involved.
MANS officials submitted the complaint to R Raja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch).
