Pune: Maharashtra Chief Secretary Dr. Nitin Kareer Honored in Grand Felicitation Ceremony

Pune, 21st January 2024: Dr. Nitin Kareer, the recently appointed Chief Secretary of Maharashtra State, reaffirmed his dedication to expediting policy decisions during his brief tenure. He conveyed this commitment while addressing the audience at his felicitation ceremony held at Hotel Residency.

The event, attended by distinguished personalities including Sinhagad Institutes Founder Prof. MN Navale, DY Patil Vidyapeeth Chancellor Dr PD Patil, and Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Dr Shivajirao Kadam, State Additional Secretary (Finance) OP Gupta, State Sports Director Suhas Diwase, Pune District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, Pune Municipal Corporation’s Additional Commissioner Ravindra Binawade, CID IGP Sarang Awad, was organized by Vasantrao Maske.

Maske attributed Kareer’s success to his implementation of discipline within Maharashtra’s administrative framework, effectively managing various departments. Kareer’s significant role in the computerization of stamp duty and registration functions in the Stamp Duty Department was acknowledged, setting a precedent for other states and contributing to the nation’s development.

Prof. Navale emphasized the necessity for concrete decisions that benefit the common people, expressing confidence in Kareer’s ability to enhance the standard of living. He suggested that the government might contemplate extending Kareer’s term, recognizing him as a Chief Secretary leaving a lasting legacy.

Dr. Kadam commended Kareer’s exceptional work in Sangli, highlighting the impact of his contributions to adult education, for which he received numerous awards.

Dr. Patil praised Kareer not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his humanitarian approach, noting the warm welcome he extends to everyone.

The felicitation ceremony featured Dr. Kareer being honored with a shawl, a bouquet, and a silver image of Lord Ganesha symbolizing blessings and prosperity. The occasion also provided a platform for Sunanda Navale, Sarang Awad, OP Gupta, and others to express their sentiments, with Sachin Itkar moderating the proceedings.
