Pune, 12th May 2025: From the academic session 2025–26, all First-Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions across Maharashtra will be conducted through a unified, state-wide online system. The move aims to simplify and standardize the process for students transitioning into Std XI.

In a major relief to parents and students, the state education department has also announced a uniform registration fee of ₹100 for all applicants — replacing the earlier differential fee structure, which charged ₹225 in Mumbai and ₹125 in other regions.

“This year, for the first time, the entire state will adopt a centralized online platform for Std XI admissions,” said Sampat Suryawanshi, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. “We’ve also introduced a flat fee of ₹100 to ensure consistency and affordability across regions.”

Students seeking admission can register on the official portal — https://mahafyjcadmissions.in — and select colleges of their preference during the application process. A helpline has also been made available to resolve queries: 8530955564.

The deadline to complete registration is May 28, after which merit lists will be drawn based on student preferences and available seats.
Education officials say the centralized system will help reduce confusion and eliminate regional disparities. “Our goal is to make the process smoother and more student-friendly,” said an official from the education department.

This initiative marks a significant step towards streamlining higher secondary admissions in Maharashtra and ensuring equal access across urban and rural areas.
