Pune: Major Fire Breaks Out at Vehicle Repair Garage Near Petrol Pump on Pune’s JM Road
Pune, 26th December 2025: A major fire at a four-wheeler repair garage along Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road caused panic among commuters and residents after flames and thick smoke were seen billowing from the premises, located close to a petrol pump near the Jangli Maharaj Temple.
The fire erupted at the garage where several vehicles were parked for repairs. Given the close proximity of the site to the fuel station, authorities swiftly evacuated people from the surrounding area as a precautionary measure to prevent any escalation or explosion.
Following the alert, the Pune Fire Brigade deployed four to five fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters acted quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the nearby petrol pump. Firefighting operations were still in progress at the time of reporting.
The incident led to a temporary traffic disruption on JM Road, one of Pune’s busiest commercial routes. Police personnel were deployed to manage traffic and ensure public safety while emergency operations continued.
Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire or the extent of damage. However, with multiple vehicles inside the garage at the time of the incident, authorities suspect that the financial losses could be substantial.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire, and further details are awaited.
