Pune: Man Loses Rs 1.27 Crore In Cryptocurrency Fraud, Case Registered

Pune 29th August 2023:: In yet another incident of cyber fraud reported in Pune, a 46-year-old man from Bhosari was duped of Rs 1.27 Crore in the name of investment into Crypto Currency Trading by unknown people. The complainant came in contact with the accused through Telegram and Whatsapp.

According to the complaint registered with the police, the accused assured good benefit to the complainant in the name of investment in the Crypto Currency trading. However, after paying around Rs 1,27,29,700 to the accused he realised that he had been duped and he approached police to lodge a complaint in the matter.

According to the complainant, the accused asked himi to invest money using GEE and CAE crypto currency trading application between July and August this year. The police have booked unidentified people under sections 419, 420, 406 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act. The case has been registered at Bhosari MIDC Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
