Pune: Man Saves Wife And Son Before Drowning In Pavana Dam Backwater
Pune, 27th March 2022: In a tragic incident, a man died of drowning in the backwater of Pavana dam. However, he managed to save his wife and minor son.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Laxman Pawar. His body was taken out by members of Shivdurg Rescue Team, Lonavala and Maval Forest Ranger.
According to officials, Pawar was carrying his son on the shoulder and crossing a stream alongwith his wife. He could not gauge the depth and started drowning. However, he managed to throw his son to safety and pushed away his wife, thus saving their lives. However, he could not survive. His body was recovered after some time.
