Pune: Man Selling Railway Reservation Tickets Using Multiple Personal IDs Held In Solapur, Case Registered

Pune 21st Sept 2023: The Railway officials of Solapur Division have booked a person from Solapur for allegedly selling railway reservation tickets to consumers using multiple person IDs of the IRCTC website. The accused was traced after the cyber cell of Pune division noticed suspicious activity and alerted the members of the Solapur division for action.

It was revealed that the accused identified as Raghunandan Satish Chitken (39), a resident of Solapur was running a shop named Punya Shrivari Seva in the city. The accused was using six different person IDs created on the IRCTC website to book reservation tickets besides having one agent ID. It was also found that he had sold several tickets to the consumers using these IDs.

A case has been registered against the accused under section 143 of The Railways Act. The accused was booked for selling tickets purchased using personal IDs for the commercial purpose. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
