Pune: Man Stabbed to Death inside Home; Attacker Caught With Blood-Stained Clothes
Swargate, 22nd July 2025: In a shocking incident on Monday morning, a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death inside his residence in Parvati Darshan Colony, Swargate. The accused, who fled the scene, was arrested shortly after by Parvati Police during a swift chase.
The deceased has been identified as Danish Siddiqui, a resident of Parvati Darshan, who ran a dabeli handcart for a living. The accused, Dinesh Prabhakar Kshirsagar (35), hails from Yavatmal district.
According to police, the incident took place around 9:15 am when the door of Danish’s house was open. Kshirsagar allegedly entered the premises uninvited. Upon noticing him, Danish confronted the intruder, leading to a scuffle. During the altercation, the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed Danish in the neck.
Family members rushed Danish to Harjeevan Hospital near Sarasbaug, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Senior officers from Parvati Police Station launched an immediate search operation. The accused was tracked down and apprehended near Satara Road within hours of the crime. “Blood stains were clearly visible on his clothes,” an officer said.
Police suspect that the accused may be mentally unstable, as he has been giving incoherent and contradictory statements during questioning. “The motive for the murder remains unclear,” said an officer involved in the investigation.

Danish had been living in Parvati Darshan with his brother and sister-in-law for the past six months. Neither of them knew the attacker, making the motive even more puzzling.
Further investigation is underway.
