Pune: Married Woman Subjected to Inhumane Torture for Dowry, Including Pouring Chili Water in Her Eyes and Ears

Kothrud, 22nd February 2023: A shocking case of dowry-related torture has come to light in which a married woman was subjected to horrific abuse. It has been revealed that her in-laws mixed chili powder with water and poured it into her mouth, eyes, and ears, among other forms of physical and mental torture.
The victim has filed a complaint and a case has been registered against the accused in the Kothrud police station under various sections including dowry, assault, and intimidation.
The accused in the case are Nagesh Karthik Sahebanne (23), Ratna Karthik Sahebanne (42), Mahadevi Jadhav (58), all residents of Kothrud, and Limbaraj Bhise (58), a resident of Kelewadi, Kothrud. The victim, a 22-year-old woman, approached the police to report the abuse.
The victim had married Nagesh in October 2021, but her in-laws began to demand dowry from her soon after the marriage. The harassment escalated over time and the victim was subjected to physical and mental torture, including being tied up and burned with wood, in addition to the chili water poured in her mouth, eyes, and ears.
Unable to tolerate the abuse any longer, the victim approached the police and filed a complaint against her in-laws. The accused have been booked under various sections of the law and will be brought to justice for their heinous crimes.
