Pune, 31st January 2025: Heavy traffic has been observed on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway due to the 4th T20 match between India and England at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Every route leading to the stadium is experiencing heavy congestion.

On the Pune side, traffic has been reported from the Orchid Hotel area near Baner up to the stadium, affecting nearly 15 km of the highway. Meanwhile, from the Mumbai side, heavy traffic is seen from Somatane Phata to Dehu Road Central, continuing on the bypass road until the stadium.

In addition to match spectators, the usual Friday office rush has added to the congestion, with many people leaving work from Balewadi, Hinjawadi, and Wakad. Service roads connecting the highway, especially in Wakad, Hinjawadi, and Ravet, are also clogged. Street vendors selling counterfeit Indian cricket team jerseys have encroached upon roads, further contributing to the traffic.

Moreover, ongoing roadwork, particularly in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area, has worsened the situation. The traffic is expected to ease once spectators reach the stadium, which may take at least an hour.
