Pune Metro Successfully Completes Test Run To Ruby Hall Station From Shivajinagar Court

Pune, 27th March 2023: The Pune Metro has completed a successful test run to Ruby Hall Station. The test run, which took place today saw the metro train leave Civil Court Station (Shivajinagar) at exactly 3:50 pm and reach Ruby Hall Station at 4:07 pm, at 10 km/hour. The train crossed the Mula-Mutha Sangam bridge, passed through Mangalwar Peth (RTO) station, and Pune railway station before arriving at Ruby Hall Station on schedule.
The test run was carried out to ensure that the train’s objective was met and to ensure that the metro network would run smoothly once it opens for passengers. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Station to Phugewadi Station and Vanaz Station to Garware College Station 12 km route, which was opened for passengers in 2022, will now be extended to include Phugewadi Station – Civil Court Interchange Station and Garware College Station – Civil Court Interchange Station – Ruby Hall Station, totaling 12 km.
Tests were previously conducted on the Garware Station to Civil Court Interchange Station on 25th November 2022, and on the Phugewadi Station to Civil Court Interchange Station route on 31st December 2022. With the completion of the work on these three routes, the Railway Safety Commissioner will be called for CMRS inspection, after which passenger services will be started on this route.
Important stations on the route from Civil Court Interchange Station to Ruby Hall Station include Mangalwar Peth (RTO), Pune Railway Station, Ruby Hall Station, Jehangir Hospital, and Wadia College. The pedestrian bridge of Pune railway station will be connected to the concourse floor of the metro, making it convenient for rail and metro passengers to avail of each other’s services directly. All railway platforms will be easily accessible from the metro station.
Dr Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director of Mahametro, expressed his satisfaction with the successful test run and emphasized that the completion of the work on these three routes would soon connect Pune Railway Station, RTO, and Ruby Hall by the metro network. This will be a convenient mode of transportation for citizens of Pune to come and go in this area. Furthermore, the Mangalwar Peth Station (RTO) is a busy location, and it will benefit many citizens visiting the RTO offices, as well as students.
