Pune, 20th October 2026: The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the deadline to apply for flats under its 15% social housing and 20% inclusive housing schemes to October 30, 2026, citing technical issues arising from the upgradation of the MahaIT system and requests from applicants.

Online applications for the flats opened on August 24, 2026. The schemes have received a strong response, with 2,11,414 applicants registering so far and 1,41,417 paying the required deposit.

The deadline had been extended earlier as the verification of documents submitted online was taking time. Residential certificates and income certificates uploaded by applicants are verified through MahaIT, while income tax returns are checked online by the Income Tax Department.

The ongoing upgradation of the MahaIT system has also affected the functioning of websites, portals and applications. As a result, verification of 4,925 residential certificates and 8,513 income certificates is still pending, MHADA said.

The latest extension is intended to give applicants additional time to complete the process amid the technical issues and pending document verification.
