Pune: Minister Patil Applauds Bicycle Patrolling By Mundhwa Police Station Staff
Pune, 15th November 2023: Chandrakant Patil, the Minister of Higher and Technical Education, Textiles, and Parliamentary Affairs for the State of Maharashtra, made a visit to Mundhwa village on the occasion of Diwali.
During his arrival at the event venue, Minister Patil observed an innovative approach to patrolling adopted by the Mundhwa Police Station—bicycle patrolling. Senior Police Inspector Vishnu Tamhane took the opportunity to explain the advantages of this unique patrolling strategy.
In the context of narrow roads, alleyways, and congested traffic areas, four-wheeled police vehicles face limitations in effective patrolling. However, bicycle patrolling proves to be a more agile and efficient method, ensuring visible patrolling to prevent and control crimes, maintain law and order, and enhance women’s safety.
The Minister acknowledged the dual benefit of bicycle patrolling, not only for its effectiveness in law enforcement but also for its positive impact on the physical health of police officers. He praised the efforts of the Mundhwa Police Station for implementing such a proactive and health-conscious approach.
Senior Police Inspector Vishnu Tamhane and other officers, including PSI Anil Binwade, ASI Ramesh Ugle, and Constables Vaibhav More, Gokul Sodanwar, Dayanand Gaikwad, and Swati Parbhan, received accolades for their commendable efforts in executing bicycle patrolling.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Maharashtra Ex-Minister Dilip Kamble, MLA Sunil Kamble, Ex-MLA Jagdish Mulik, Bapu Pathare, Pramod Bhangire (Shiv Sena), and other notable personalities.
