Pune: Minor Killed in Pimpri-Chinchwad After Old Feud Turns Deadly; Five Arrested in Wadmukhwadi Murder Case
Wadmukhwadi, 13th March 2025: A 17-year-old boy, Soham Sachin Shinde, was brutally murdered in Wadmukhwadi, late on Sunday night (11th May), following a longstanding dispute. Police reports indicate that Soham was chatting with friends near the Sai Temple around 10:30 pm when a group of assailants confronted him, hurled abuses, and attacked him with a billhook, inflicting fatal wounds to his head, chest, and back. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead before treatment could begin.
The Dighi Police registered a case after Soham’s father, Sachin Pralhad Shinde, filed a complaint. Initial investigations led to the arrest of three suspects, Nilesh Shinde, Sumit Shinde, and Shubham Pokharkar, all residents of Dighi-by the Pimpri Chinchwad Crime Branch’s Anti Property Crime Cell.
According to Police, the trio reached there and started abusing the victim over their old dispute. They attacked the victim with a koyta. The victim received major blows on his head, chest, and other body parts, and died on the spot. The accused attempted to flee but were apprehended before they could leave the district.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of two more individuals, Omkar Patole and Omkar Hivrale, who were subsequently arrested. Police sources added that the feud stemmed from a prior altercation in which the victim had allegedly attacked one of the accused, Sumit Shinde, resulting in a previous attempted murder case against Soham.
