Pune: MIT-WPU to Host ‘Udyamotsav 2025’ on January 16 to Celebrate National Startup Day

Pune, 14th January 2025: ‘Udyamotsav 2025’, a grand initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE, is set to celebrate National Startup Day in a remarkable manner. The event will be inaugurated on January 16, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) campus, Kothrud, Pune. This announcement was made by Prof. Prakash Joshi, Director of MIT TBI and Founder of the MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions, Dr. Milind Pandey, Pro-Vice Chancellor of MIT-WPU, and Ninad Patil, CEO of MIT Technology Business Incubator, at a press briefing.

Inspired by the Central Government’s Shark Tank initiative, ‘Udyamotsav 2025’ aims to bridge the gap between students, budding entrepreneurs, and the investor community. The platform celebrates startups emerging from academic institutions and incubation centers across India. It provides a unique opportunity for startups to pitch their ideas to investors, secure funding, and establish strategic partnerships, fostering a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The event’s highlight is its focus on direct dialogue between investors and startups. Entrepreneurs will present their innovations, interact with prominent investors, and explore new collaborations that could transform their ventures into success stories.

The ‘Udyamotsav 2025’ event at MIT-WPU will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including Dr. Pradeep Dhande from AICTE, Bharat Oswal from JITO, CA Ninad Date, Jitendra Sapkal, Founder and CEO of RISE Capital, and Mr. Chitale from GD Chitale Ventures Ltd., who will provide insights into various aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation.

This event will connect investors and startups from 11 states, 13 cities, and 14 leading institutions, creating a nationwide network of innovation and opportunity. ‘Udyamotsav 2025’ will also be held in other key cities, including Ahmedabad, Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Srinagar, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati.

The press conference announcing the event was attended by Bharat Oswal from JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation and Prashant Iyer, Assistant Director of Start-up Accelerator, Center for Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
