Pune, 21st November 2025: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released the provisional general merit list for the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services (Main) Examination 2024, placing Nikhil Wagh at the top of the state rankings. Candidates who qualified for the interviews can submit their post-preference options online starting November 26.

The announcement was made through an official statement issued by the Commission. Personal interviews for shortlisted candidates were held on November 18 and 19 at Belapur. Following the conclusion of these assessments, the provisional merit list was uploaded to the MPSC portal.

According to the Commission, the merit list is tentative and may undergo changes after scrutiny of documents submitted by candidates. MPSC noted that corrections in individual claims, discrepancies in certificates, or pending litigation may affect ranking positions or, in some cases, eligibility. The list remains subject to the outcomes of several petitions currently being heard in various courts and tribunals.

To facilitate the next stage of the recruitment process, the Commission has opened an online link for candidates to submit their preferences for the two notified cadres. The window for submitting these preferences will remain open until November 26 on the official website mpsc.gov.in.

Candidates must assign priority between ranks 1 and 2 for the available cadres or indicate “No Preference” where applicable. Those selecting a ranked preference will be considered for all posts under that cadre in the order of priority submitted. Candidates who do not wish to be considered for a particular cadre must explicitly mark the “No Preference” option.

Once preferences are submitted, candidates may download a PDF copy of their choices for personal records. MPSC has clarified that only the posts selected during this window will be evaluated during final allotment. No revisions or additional submissions will be accepted after the deadline. In cases where candidates fail to submit new preferences, the options provided during the main examination application will automatically be treated as final.
