Pune : MSEDCL Gears To Provide Temporary Connections To Ganesh Mandals, Officials Instructed To Expedite Process
Pune 28th August 2023: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has asked its officials to prepare for the upcoming Ganesh festivals in the city. A review meeting was held to check the preparedness in Pune division by the Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar of MSEDCL on Monday.
Pawar instructed the officials to prepare to give temporary connections to Ganesh mandals on priority. The officials were instructed to cooperate with the Ganesh Mandals for various problems including applications to apply for the temporary connections online. The MSEDCL staff was instructed to inspect the transformers that will be used to give new connections.
The officials were also instructed to check the infrastructure and transformers on the immersion procession routes to repair wherever needed. The Chief Engineer asked the staff to ensure that there are less joints in the wires while giving connections to the ganesh mandals to avoid any major incident.
“Taking precautions during the Ganesh Festival and ensuring a separate neutral connection for generators is essential. Due to power cuts during voltage supply interruptions, when generators are started with a single neutral, the flow of electricity within the generator gets diverted into the local grid, causing a potential risk of electrical accidents. Continuous heavy rainfall and strong winds can result in the wires of the public lighting placed at pandals not hanging loose or becoming exposed. To prevent such incidents, public Ganesh Mandals are urged to conduct regular inspections” said the MSEDCL officials.
