Pune-Nashik Highway Woes: NHAI Vows Action After Rajgurunagar Bypass Inspection

Pune/Nashik, 7th January 2025: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Project Director Sanjay Kadam recently inspected sections of the Pune-Nashik Highway near Khed Taluka, focusing on the bypass that skirts Rajgurunagar. During the inspection, Kadam promised to complete several crucial works, including an underpass at Tukaiwadi and improvements to service roads in the area.
The bypass around Rajgurunagar, part of the Pune-Nashik Highway, has been facing issues due to incomplete construction. In Tukaiwadi and Sandbhorwadi, deteriorating service roads have forced people to drive on the wrong side of the road, increasing the risk of accidents. Additionally, damaged speed breakers have led to vehicles travelling at high speeds, while inconsistent concrete surfacing has damaged vehicles.
Responding to citizens’ complaints, Project Director Kadam visited these areas accompanied by local authorities, political leaders, and activists. Residents demanded high-quality work on the Tukaiwadi underpass, service roads, and cement concreting. After inspecting the site, Kadam assured that the necessary works would be completed soon.
This inspection and the promised improvements aim to address the safety concerns and infrastructure issues that have been plaguing this section of the Pune-Nashik Highway, potentially reducing accidents and improving traffic flow in the area.
