Pune NCP Chief’s Resignation: Supriya Sule Clarifies No Official Letter Received
Mumbai/Pune, 23 December 2025: Amid swirling political speculation ahead of the upcoming civic elections, senior NCP leader and MP Supriya Sule on Tuesday clarified that she has not received any official resignation letter from Pune city party chief Prashant Jagtap.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Sule emphasised that no formal communication regarding a resignation has reached her or the party’s state president, Shashikant Shinde, as required under party rules. “There is no resignation letter submitted to me. According to party procedure, it should also reach the state president, but that has not occurred either. Matters can only be confirmed once they officially reach us,” she said.
Sule added that she first became aware of the reports through media coverage. “I have learned about this from the media. I have not received any communication regarding this from Shashikant Shinde,” she stated, putting an end to rumours about leadership changes within the Pune NCP.
Asked about a potential merger or alliance between the Sharad Pawar-led NCP and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, Sule said she had no official information. “Since there is no formal communication on this matter, I will not comment,” she added.
