Pune, 10th March 2023: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted an investigation into properties owned by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former minister, Hasan Mushrif, on Friday. The properties in Pune and Kolhapur were raided after an earlier raid in January, during which the ED team seized documents from the residences of Mushrif’s relatives in Kondhwa and an office on Ganeshkhind road.

Mushrif is accused of involvement in malpractices related to the purchase of a sugar factory in Kolhapur, with allegations of black money being used in the transaction. The transaction was allegedly facilitated by Mushrif’s close associates. The ED’s actions come after Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Kirit Somaiya, made allegations against Mushrif.

Mushrif’s close relatives were interrogated by the ED team during Friday’s investigation. This comes as yet another blow to the NCP, which has been facing several corruption allegations in recent times.
