Pune: New Flyover At Chandni Chowk To Be Completed By End Of April, Says Nitin Gadkari

Pune, 12th March 2023: The work of the new flyover at Chandni Chowk will be completed by the end of April. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a press conference that the plan is to inaugurate the flyover on Maharashtra Day (1st May) with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
Around Rs 53,000 crore in road development works is underway in the district, including Pune city, which includes Pune-Ahmednagar, Pune-Nashik, Pune-Solapur, and city ring roads of approximately 625 km. It mainly includes long highways. Gadkari said that after the development of the highway, the toll will also be levied to provide better facilities. He has also mentioned that circular roads will help in reducing pollution in the city.
While conducting an aerial inspection of the Palkhi Route, he inspected the Ujani dam. The water in this dam is very low in April and May. Gadkari said that if the silt from this dam is available for highway work, it will be of better quality. He said he will propose the notion to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.
While replying to a question, Gadkari said that a proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Railways to build a new railway line to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Navi Mumbai via Daund-Baramati. Gadkari also said that a demand will be made to the state government that the state government should waive the goods and services tax on cement and steel required for highway work in the state.
On this occasion, he also gave information about the ongoing projects in the country as well as across the state. He also said that after the completion of all the projects, the transportation status of the country will be strong.
