Pune: Newborn’s Head Found, Body Missing in Baramati; Police Investigation On

Baramati, 4th January 2024: In a disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a part of the head of a newborn baby was discovered in Baramati, Pune district. The infant’s body was found dumped in a vacant plot in Suryanagari, with the lower part missing. The gruesome find has sparked an immediate response from local authorities, triggering concerns and outrage among citizens.

Authorities, led by Prabhakar More, Police Inspector of Baramati Police Station, suspect foul play and are investigating the possibility that stray dogs may have attacked the abandoned newborn, leading to the tragic outcome. The upper part of the infant’s body has been sent to Rural Hospital, Rui for post-mortem analysis to ascertain the circumstances of the baby’s death.

Initial assessments by the police suggest that the newborn might have been abandoned.

Inspector More confirmed that the police have initiated a search to determine the identity of the individual involved in this appalling act.
