Pune: Night of Terror in Hadapsar; Miscreant Group Smashes Vehicles, Issues Death Threats
Hadapsar, 5th July 2024: The Hadapsar area of Pune is witnessing a surge in miscreant group-related activities, causing alarm among residents. A recent incident involving these miscreants vandalizing vehicles in the Sanket Vihar Society has brought the issue to light.
A case has been registered against four to five individuals in connection with this incident, following a complaint by Maruti Tatyasaheb Kalokhe, a 31-year-old resident of Fursungi, Hadapsar.
The incident occurred at midnight on Thursday when the group members arrived at the Sanket Vihar Society. They began hurling abuses at the residents and proceeded to smash the windows of parked vehicles with machetes. When Kalokhe confronted the vandals, they threatened to kill him. The investigation is currently being handled by Assistant Police Inspector Jadhav.
This is not an isolated incident. Over the past few months, there has been a noticeable increase in such group activity in the Hadapsar area. Just a month ago, shopkeepers in the vicinity were threatened and their shops vandalized by similar gangs. These recurring acts of vandalism have instilled a sense of terror among the citizens.
