Pune, June 8, 2020: As per the new guidelines, travellers are not subject to 14-day mandatory home quarantine but this is only when the air, rail traveller show zero symptoms of COVID-19. Earlier, the 14-day quarantine was compulsory with a test if any traveller showed symptoms of coronavirus disease.

The Pune district administration has clarified that now the passengers coming to the city for a business trip or just drop off and pick up family members will no longer be put under 14- day mandatory quarantine if they don’t have high-risk exposure. So far the number of COVID 19 cases is escalating, so this change in the guideline amid lockdown relaxation is seen very significant. The visitant coming to the city will have to return as soon as they are done with their task, said the district administration.

Considering the desperation of the people to reach their hometown many states have announced varied quarantine rules for arriving passengers. The medical check-up at Pune railway station is being conducted by the district administration and Pune Municipal Corporation. At the airport also medical screening is being done.
