Pune: No Water Supply In The City On Thursday, September 10

Pune, September 8, 2020: There will be no supply of water on Thursday, September 10, across the Pune city. It will resume with low pressure late on the next day, on Friday morning (September 11). Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a press release and declared water cut on Thursday for repair and maintenance work of all water supply and water treatment plants in the city.

 

It is the second water closure after lockdown. Earlier, there had been a water closure by PMC on June 11, and before that, it was in February.

 

As per the PMC press release, “There will be no water supply on Thursday. Water supply will be cut due to electrical and civil work repair that needs to be undertaken at all water treatment plants. It will resume with low pressure late on the next day on Friday morning.”

 

Water closure areas, treatment plants and pumping stations:

  • Parvati water treatment plant (Parvati, Padmavati, Indiranagar pumping stations)
  • Vadgaon water treatment plant
  • Chaturshrungi, SNDT, Warje water treatment plants
  • Pune Cantonment treatment plant
  • New Holkar and Chikhali pumping station
