Pune: No water supply in these areas tomorrow Friday, May 15 for seven hours

Pune, May 14, 2020: Due to repair works Padmavati water pumping station, there will be no water supply between 8 am to 3 pm on Friday, May 15. As a result, water supply in Padmavati, Sambhajinagar, Chavannagar, Shankar Maharaj Vasati, Taljai, Taljai Vasahat and surrounding areas will be cut off, the water supply department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) informed today.

The maintenance and repair work at the water stations will be expedited. For the convenience of the residents of these areas, after 3 pm, however, enough water will be available as per the planned schedule, the PMC has also clarified. Due to lockdown, people are at home and hence the use of water has increased.

According to PMC water supply department, in the backdrop of upcoming monsoon season, PMC has started maintenance and repair work at all water stations in the city. However, some works at the Padmavati pumping station needs to be done urgently and it will be undertaken from Friday morning. Necessary repairs will be done by inspecting the main aqueduct, internal ducts, filters and valves in the water station.
