Pune: No water supply on June 11, Thursday across the city

Pune, June 8, 2020: There will be no supply of water on Thursday, 11 June 2020, across the Pune city. It will resume with low pressure late on the next day ie Friday morning (June 12).

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) today issued a press release and declared water cut on Thursday for repair and maintenance work of all water supply and water treatment plants in the city. It is the first water closure after almost three months. Earlier, water closure was taken by PMC in February.

According to PMC water supply department, after the commencement of lockdown in the city, PMC is taking water closure for maintenance work. “Normally, water supply is closed in summer season for repair and maintenance work of water treatment plants. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic situation and lockdown, we haven’t cut water supply for the convenience of the public. Now, we have to undertake the repair and maintenance work”, an officer said.

As per the PMC press release,” there will be no water supply on Thursday. Water supply will be cut due to electrical repair work that needs to be undertaken at all water treatment plants.
