Pune: Notorious Burglar with Over 1,50 Theft Cases Arrested by Kondhwa Police, Gold Ornaments Recovered

Kondhwa, 17th June 2025: In a major breakthrough, Kondhwa Police have arrested a seasoned criminal involved in a high-profile house burglary reported earlier this month.

The accused, identified as Arjun Singh Rajputsingh Dudhani (47), a resident of Manjri Gaon in Hadapsar, was apprehended on 10 June 2025. He is allegedly responsible for over 1,57 burglary and theft cases across Pune and nearby areas.

The arrest was made in connection with a case registered at Kondhwa Police Station under Sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a housebreaking incident reported between 3rd and 4th June 2025. The complainant had locked his home and travelled to his native village, during which time an unidentified thief broke into the residence by cutting through the iron and wooden doors, making away with 21 tolas of gold ornaments, cash, and the CCTV DVR from the society office.

Given the gravity of the case, senior officers swiftly deployed two investigation teams. They meticulously scanned over 100 CCTV footages over five days, eventually identifying Dudhani as the primary suspect based on intelligence inputs from confidential sources.

Acting on a tip-off, the police team laid a trap at Dudhani’s residence near the water tank in Manjri Gaon and took him into custody. A total of ₹3.4 lakh worth of stolen property was recovered, which includes:
A gold mangalsutra (40 grams),
A gold chain (20 grams),
A Honda Splendor motorcycle worth ₹40,000 used during the commission of the crime.
The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Rajkumar Shinde and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Wanawadi Division) Dhanyakumar Godse. The team included Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, Police Inspector (Crime) Navnath Jagtap, API Rakesh Jadhav, PSI Balaji Digole, and police personnel Satish Chavan, Nilesh Desai, Vishal Memane, Gorakhnath Chinke, Laxman Holkar, Sujit Madan, Suraj Shukla, Santosh Bansude, Vikas Margale, Rahul Thorat, Abhijit Jadhav, and Saif Pathan.
