Pune, 16th October 2021: The Standing Committee of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has asked the civic body to halt its biodiversity park project on Taljai Hills. Local residents and activists have been opposing the plan and have organised protests.

Not Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is the ruling party at the PMC is said to be opposed to the project. Hence, the committee has asked the PMC to put the project on hold for a month and the proposal has been sent back to the municipal commissioner for approval.

BJP corporator Mahesh Wable said that residents, as well as environmentalists, are against the project. BJP does not want to implement any project against people’s wishes.
