Pune Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (POGS) to host Lactacon 2019
Pune 7 August 2019: Pune Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (POGS) in association with Study on Female Breast Committee, FOGSI has organized Lactacon 2019, BRAIN – Breastfeeding And Infant Nutrition at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Pune on 11 August, 2019.
The day long conference will be inaugurated at hands of Chief Guest Dr Ajay Khera Deputy Commissioner Child Welfare program , Ministry of Child development and Family Welfare in presence of Guest of Honour Dr Prashant Gangal of Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India , Maharashtra.Dr Sneha Bhuyar , Chairperson, Study on Female Breast Committee , FOGSI will also be present on the occasion .
POGS Managing Committee includes Dilip Walke, President, Pune Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society, Kundan Ingale, General Secretary, Vaishali Korde Nayak, Clinical Secretary, Dr. Mangala Wani, Convener, Harshad Parasnis, President Elect, P. Neurgaonkar, Treasurer, and Bharati Dhorepatil, Imm. Past President.
Dr Parag Binniwale Secretary ICOG will be present on the occasion .
The conference has been organized to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week which is an annual event held every year from 1st to 7th August all over the world.
Gynaecologist , Lactation Consultant and Convenor of the conference Dr Mangala Wani informed that the a unique intitiave -Breastfeeding Dance would be the highlight of the inaugural session and would underline the importance of breastfeeding through dance. The conference would also include seminars, panel discussions, key notes and guidance sessions on topics like Human milk composition, Risk of non breastfeeding, International code, Why obstetrician should treat breast abscess, Antenatal preparation and multidisciplinary approach for breastfeeding etc.
