Pune: On-Duty Traffic Police Help Pregnant Woman Deliver Baby Near Hinjawadi

Wakad, 2nd December 2024: Quick thinking and timely action by two traffic police women led to a safe delivery for a pregnant woman on Sunday. Rajshree Madhav Waghmare (25), who was on her way to Aundh Hospital, gave birth to a healthy baby boy after experiencing sudden labor pains en route.

Traffic police head constable Neelam Vijay Chavan and constable Reshma Nazir Sheikh, both posted with Hinjawadi traffic division under Pimpri Chinchwad police, were on duty at Wakad naka when they noticed Rajshree in distress. Acting swiftly, they escorted her to a nearby shop and contacted doctors and an ambulance without delay. The cops provided reassurance and comfort to Rajshree while waiting for medical assistance.

Within a short time, medical professionals arrived, and Rajshree delivered her baby safely on-site. She was later transported to Aundh Hospital for further treatment and care, informed DCP (Traffic) Bapu Bangar.

Appreciating their work, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey felicitated both the women cops.
