‘Pune on Pedal’ Cycle Rally on Friday to Celebrate PM Modi’s Birthday and Promote Healthy Living
Pune, 12th September 2024: A grand cycle rally titled ‘Pune on Pedal’ will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024, to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and raise awareness about the benefits of a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle. The rally, an initiative led by Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Dr. Medha Kulkarni, is expected to see the participation of over 2,500 cyclists.
The rally will commence at 6 AM from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue in Kothrud and will conclude at the Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Statue at Deccan Gymkhana. Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, will flag off the event. The rally will also witness the prominent presence of Padma Shri awardee and renowned skydiver Sheetal Mahajan, along with Indian cricketer Rahul Tripathi.
Speaking about the event, Prof. Dr. Medha Kulkarni said, “We have been organizing this rally for the past five years to promote cycling as a means of leading a healthier life and reducing environmental impact.”
The event aims to encourage citizens to embrace cycling as a regular mode of transport, contributing to both personal health and a cleaner environment.
