Pune, 13th May 2023: Only 20 per cent of water is left in Chasakaman Dam. It has a policy of keeping reserve water in the dam for drinking water, so there is a possibility that the circulation of Chasakaman will stop at any time. The farmers of Nimone, Gunat, Motewadi, Nirvi, etc villages of Tel have become anxious as the water from Chasakaman has not yet reached Tel. Chasakaman’s water allocation policy has also been shaken in this cycle.

Although it is only the second cycle, even in May, the water of this cycle has not yet reached the Tel. Most of the ponds and lakes in this area have dried up due to lack of water. Due to this, the water supply schemes for agriculture have come to a standstill.

As a result, field crops are counting last minute. Due to the increasing demand for water, this cycle is getting longer and there is confusion among the officers and employees of Chasakaman itself as to when exactly the water of Chasakaman will reach the Tel.

The canal advisory committee is planning the water distribution of Chasakaman. However, the farmers do not have any idea of how exactly this planning is. So this year Chasakaman was filled 100 per cent. However, due to lack of planning in the summer, the cycle is getting longer, even though the summer is over and the rainy season is approaching, there is no water, so doubts are being raised about the functioning of this committee.
