Pune: Ophthalmologist Felicitated for his 50 years Contribution

Pune, 29th January 2023: Dr Shrikant Kelkar, Pune-based ophthalmologist and President of the National Institute of Ophthalmology was felicitated for his 50 years of contribution in the field of Ophthalmology, at hands of Dr S.B.Mujumdar, founder of Symbiosis.

The felicitation function was held at PYC Gymkhana, on Saturday Evening.

Dr.Shrikant Kelkar, Nephew of Dinakar Kelkar(Founder of Kelkar Museum) was former HOD, at KEM Hospital, Pune. He introduced the technique of Laser eye surgery, for the first time in Pune City. He also performed thousands of free-of-cost surgeries for needy patients.

The function was attended by the medical fraternity, where other doctors like Dr Madhav Pethe, Dr Parvez Grant, Dr Sanjay Patil, Dr Sanjay Gupte, and Dr Hemant Wakankar were also felicitated for their contribution.

Sanjivani Mujumdar, Aruna Kelkar, Dr.Jaai Kelkar,Dr.Aditya Kelkar, Dr Mandar Paranjape, Dr Rajiv Deshmukh and other dignitaries were present.
