Pune: Over 1.81 Lakh Students Allotted Seats in FYJC Third Admission Round; 48,253 Confirm Admissions

Pune, 24th June 2026: The merit list for the third round of First-Year Junior College (FYJC) admissions was released on Tuesday, with 1,81,931 students being allotted seats across Maharashtra.

Of these, 48,253 students confirmed their admissions on the first day itself, according to Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Dr Mahesh Palkar. Students allotted seats in the third round have been asked to complete the admission process at their respective colleges by June 25.

The state is conducting a centralised online admission process for 22.14 lakh seats available in 9,669 junior colleges. A total of 14.37 lakh students have registered for admissions this year.

Officials said that 6,35,104 students had already secured admissions through the first two regular rounds. In the third round, 37,510 students confirmed admissions through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), while another 10,743 secured seats under various quota categories.

A total of 4,95,707 students had locked their CAP application forms for the third round, while 68,593 students had locked applications under quota-based admissions. Of the students allotted seats, 90,034 were admitted to the science stream, 51,731 to commerce and 40,166 to arts.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said students can confirm their admissions between June 23 and June 25. The schedule for the fourth admission round will be announced on June 26, while details of vacant seats available for the next round will be published on June 27.

In the Pune division, 89,663 students were eligible for the third round, of whom 28,234 were allotted seats. Among them, 16,842 students secured admission in the college of their first preference, 5,727 got their second preference and 2,200 were allotted their third-choice college, officials said.
