Pune: Over 9,300 Objections Filed Against Draft Voter List in Just 12 Days

Pune, 2nd December 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has received a surge of objections and suggestions regarding the recently published draft voter list for the upcoming civic elections. In just 12 days, a total of 9,370 objections have been registered, with the highest — 3,640 objections — coming from the Sinhagad Road Ward Office.
The State Election Commission has released ward-wise and polling station–wise electoral rolls for all 41 wards in the city. According to the draft list, Pune has 35,51,469 eligible voters. However, officials have identified around 3,00,446 duplicate names, triggering concerns about inaccuracies and prompting political parties and citizens to demand corrections.
More than 10 wards have over one lakh registered voters, adding to the complexity of the verification process. Citizens have been given until December 3 to submit objections or recommend changes to ensure the accuracy of the final voter roll.
Meanwhile, the sale of the draft lists — made available for a fee as per the Election Commission’s guidelines — has already generated ₹16,06,333 in revenue over the past two weeks.
Election officials said corrections will be completed as per the verification process before final rolls are published ahead of the municipal elections.
