Pune: Over Rs 11 Lakh Robbed From An IT Engineer’s Residence

Pune, November 23, 2020: An amount of over Rs 11 lakh including US dollars, cash, and gold jewellery was looted from the house of an IT engineer. The incident of burglary took place at Karve Nagar. It came to light after the domestic helper who went to work the next day afternoon, opened the door and found the house was robbed, while the owner was away.

 

IT engineer Atul Narkhede (49), owner of the bungalow in Karvenagar has lodged a complaint in this regard at Alankar police station. There have been similar incidents of burglary in Hadapsar and Mundhwa areas.

A case has been registered against the unidentified persons. According to the police, the complainant works at a senior position in an IT company in Baner. The complainant had gone out of town on November 19. The thieves had entered the hall by lifting the window sill. They stole US dollars, gold-diamonds and silver jewellery cash worth Rs 27,000 and Rs 11,50,000 kept in the master room and three other rooms of the bungalow. The domestic helper had the key to his bungalow and she noticed the case of burglary when she visited the bungalow next afternoon. The house help immediately informed Narkhede about this. As soon as he got the information, he came to Pune. They inspected and learned about the stolen goods. Then contacted the police to register a complaint.

The thieves are being tracked down with the help of CCTV in the area. Also, those who work for them are being questioned. Assistant Inspector Dilip Gade is investigating the matter.
