Pune: Pakistani Artist Rumour Sparks Protest Outside Ballr In Kalyani Nagar, 14 Detained
Kalyani Nagar, 14th September 2025: A protest erupted outside Ballr pub in Kalyani Nagar on Sunday after right-wing organisation Sakal Hindu Samaj alleged that a Pakistani singer was scheduled to perform there.
According to the Yerwada Police Station, the artist in question, identified as Imran Nasir Khan, is a Dutch national of Pakistani origin. After a social media post claiming that he was a Pakistani citizen went viral, several activists gathered at the hotel to stage a protest.
Police said that even after being informed about the facts, the protesters attempted to stop citizens from entering the pub. To prevent any law-and-order situation, 14 protesters were detained by the Yerwada Police.
Senior Police Inspector Shelke of Yerwada Police Station confirmed that adequate security arrangements were made at the venue and that the situation remains under control.
