Pune: PCMC Activates Full Disaster Management Protocol Amid Red Alert
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 22nd May 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, prompting swift action from local authorities.
Joint Commissioner of PCMC Chandrakant Indalkar confirmed, “Full disaster management readiness is in place. Drainage cleaning, tree cutting, and emergency plans have been implemented. Notices have been issued, and ward-level teams are active to address public concerns.”
Indalkar added that citizens can register complaints through the Sarathi app. Fire brigades are on standby, and pumps are being used to prevent waterlogging. “PCMC and NDRF are fully prepared to assist residents,” he stated.
