Pune: PCMC Inaugurates Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Center for Slum Students in Moshi
Moshi, 27th August 2024: On behalf of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Slum Development Department, the Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Center has been established at Sanjay Gandhi Nagar in Moshi, in collaboration with YOJAK NGO.
PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that similar study centres will be started in all the slums of Pimpri Chinchwad with the help of NGOs.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar, Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodhade, and Renu Inamdar from YOJAK NGO were present at the event.
Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodhade, who oversees the Slum Development Department, praised the Study Center project, emphasizing its importance. He noted that books and educational materials will be provided to students, along with free educational and career guidance. He added that this initiative will serve as a model for others.
Commissioner Singh also mentioned that this initiative will be implemented across all ward offices in the city. The goal is to encourage students to develop a passion for learning, with studies and academic guidance being offered to students from classes V to XII.
